Throughout my senior year at Appalachian State University, I worked on researching, writing, editing and presenting my findings under the guidance of the Honors College. My Honors Thesis—How Media Influences Migration into the United States—was a journey that proved to myself and others how profound curiosity can further positive insight into important topics. As a first-generation American and college-student, I hold the calibration within this paper to the highest level of respect and empathy in light of those seeking positive change.
